Super Bowl Stats of the Week

Stat of the Week no. 1: Tom Coughlin's career as Giants head coach is nearly identical to Bill Parcells'.  They both won over 70 regular season games in eight seasons and made five playoff appearances.  They have identical 8-3 playoff records and both won their first Super Bowl in year four and their second Super Bowl in year eight.  Coughlin also became the oldest coach in NFL history to guide a team to a Super Bowl title.

Stat of the Week no. 2: Eli Manning became the fifth quarterback to win at least two Super Bowl MVP awards joining Joe Montana (3), Bart Starr (2), Terry Bradshaw (2) and Tom Brady (2).

Stat of the Week no. 3: Hakeem Nicks finished with 10 catches for 109 yards becoming the first Giant to have a 100-yard receiving game in the Super Bowl.

Stat of the Week no. 4: The Giants have trailed at halftime in all five of their Super Bowl appearances, but after their Super Bowl 46 victory they improved to 4-1 in the Big Game.

Stat of the Week no. 5: For the first time since the NFL went to a 16-game season, a team with fewer than 10 wins won the Super Bowl.
