Week Eight Stats of the Week

Stat of the week No. 1: The Raiders have won the past two games by a combined 75 points, which is the first time that has happened since 1967.  It’s the third time in franchise history that they have won back-to-back games by 30-plus points.  The Raiders posted 500-plus total yards in back-to-back games for the first time in their history.

Stat of the week No. 2: The Chargers allowed a block punt for safety, their fourth blocked punt of the season, which is tied for the third most in a season since the merger.

Stat of the week No. 3: Dan Carpenter became the fourth player in NFL history with five or more field goals in back-to-back games.

Stat of the week No. 4: Brandon Lloyd became the sixth player since 1970 to have 800-plus receiving yards and average 20.0 yards-per-reception or more through a team’s first eight games of a season.  The last players to accomplish this feat were Jerry Rice and Webster Slaughter in 1989.

Stat of the week No. 5: The Chiefs posted 200-plus rushing yards for the third straight game for the first time since 1978 and the second time in franchise history.
